Nepal Medical Council (NMC) Chairman Dr Jageshwar Gautam has resigned from his post on Sunday.
Dr Gautam was appointed as Chairman of the NMC on November 26, 2014.
His resignation comes after the government formed an investigating panel as demanded by Dr Govinda KC to probe into the irregularities in medical sector.
Since affiliations to new medical colleges were given when Dr Gautam as NMC Chairman, it is said that his resignation come as the government prepares to implement the agreement reached with Prof. Dr Govinda KC.
Dr. Gautam said, " “I have resigned after being unable to conduct my duties due to my ill health.
