Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has warned to halt the health services across the country from Sunday. During the press meet, held in the Capital today,  NMA President Anjani Kumar Jha asked doctors from across the country to come Kathmandu to join the agitation of the organization.

The NMA demanded that Minister for Education Madhav Poudel step down from his post, as the government failed to address demands raised by Professor Dr Govinda KC.

Dr Govinda KC has been staging fast-unto-death at the TU Teaching hospital for past one week against the government´s appointment of the Dean at the Institute of Medicine.

The NMA blamed that the government did nothing to end political meddling at IOM,  NMA, also urged the government not to grant affiliation to proposed new medical colleges.

Similarly, the NMA asked the government for reinstatement of Dr Prakash Sayami as the IOM Dean, who  was compelled to step down from the post under pressure to grant affiliations to proposed new medical colleges.
