National Examinations Board on a meeting on Tuesday made the decision not to enact the system of unclassified (non-graded) students who receive scores below 35% on the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).
The second wave of COVID-19 prolonged the start of the academic sesion and made it difficult to complete the course on time. According to a reliable source in the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, the outcomes of the 2078 SEE examinees were not very encouraging.

The previous methodology will be used to produce the SEE results for the year 2078. The previous grading scheme assigned grade D to students scoring between 20 to 30 and grade E to students who received below 20.
The ministry source stated, "This time, it has been agreed to publish the results using the old way because it doesn't seem like there will be much justice if individuals who receive less than 35 percent are not assessed."
The Ministry of Education released letter grading guidelines on Poush 7, 2078. Scores of 90 or higher are considered excellent (Aplus), scores of 80 or higher and below 90 are considered excellent (A), scores of 70 or higher and below 80 are considered excellent (Bplus), and scores of 60 or higher and below 70 are considered excellent (B). In terms of grades, 50 and above is satisfactory (Cplus), 40 and above is acceptable (C), 35 and above is basic (D), and below 35 is unclassified or non-graded.
