​Minister Bista urges private schools not to delay enlisting in social security programme

Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista has urged all the private schools in the country to enlist in the contribution based social security scheme not exceeding October 17 this year. 

At a programme organised by the Private and Boarding Schools' Organisation Nepal (PABSON) Kathmandu here on Saturday, Minister Bista explained that the government had introduced the scheme offering security to the teachers, staffers of the private and community schools alike.

Stating that glitches could be experienced in the nascent stage of implementing any new programmes, he referred that the similar schemes had been enforced in developed countries in Europe and the USA, and it would eventually secure welfare of elderly citizens.
He urged the private schools proprietors to implement the scheme seriously as it aims to enhance productivity and ensure healthy growth of the school sector. 

On the occasion, the Minister shared that a committee led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Ishwor Pokharel to reach conclusion on the Education Policy. 

Also, PABSON Kathmandu chapter honoured 33 students from 24 private schools securing GPA 4 in the last SEE school. Also feted in the programme were 65 teachers for their long-standing services.
