Ashok Rai, the Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, has conveyed his confidence in the newly founded Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology, emphasizing its potential to excel in world-class education while prioritizing studies and research. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Lalitpur today, he expressed his belief that the university will thrive in providing high-quality education in science and technology and make significant strides in teaching and research endeavors on an international level.
Minister Rai stated that the university would effectively enhance the competitiveness of the Nepali economy by producing skilled technical and scientific professionals. He expressed his confidence that Madan Bhandari University will overcome numerous challenges and succeed in providing top-notch education in science and technology.
During the conference, an agreement was reached between the university and Larke Himal Jadibuti Udhyog to collaborate on joint studies and research in the realm of science and technology.
In the month of Baisakh in the year 2076, the Madan Bhandari Science and Technology Development Board was established, signaling the beginning of preparations for the university's foundation. The Chairman of the University Infrastructure Development Committee, Dr. Rajendra Dhoj Joshi, and the Industry Chairman, Deepak Pandey, signed the memorandum of understanding, officially commencing the planning phase for the university's establishment.
Starting from December 01, 2023, the university is making arrangements to initiate a research-oriented post-graduate and PhD program in Chitlang, Makwanpur, with a primary focus on addressing the practical needs of the country. The vision for this institution is to establish a globally renowned research university with the mission of nurturing capable technical and scientific professionals, boosting the competitiveness of the Nepalese economy, generating and adapting knowledge and technology to suit the local context, and actively contributing to the prosperity of Nepal.
