Mashreq Bank donates the materials worth Rs 1 million to a School in Lalitpur

Kathmandu, March 23 (RSS): Mashreq Bank, the largest bank of UAE, having its head office in Dubai, donated various educational materials, and uniforms to a school at Kitachaur of Bistachap of Lalitpur district under the bank’s corporate social responsibility as part of its Future Generations initiatives. 

The educational materials and uniforms provided to all the students of the school from grade 1 to 8 of Shree Krishna Basic School include computer, laptop, projector, 3-in-1 printer, and internet connection, school shoes (2 pairs), school dresses (2 sets). 

Chief Country Representative of Mashreq Bank Hema Kumari Adhikari handed the materials worth Rs 1 million to the Principal of the school amid a function on Friday. 

Addressing the event, Mashreq Bank Country Representative Adhikari stated that Mashreq has taken initiatives in contributing to Nepal from the very beginning. 

The bank has reached out and touched the lives of numerous individuals of Nepal where the bank has its presence and successfully contributed for positive changes in lives, lifestyles and livelihood of many people of many countries including Nepal, India, Pakistan and UAE through its CSR initiatives, she said. 

She expressed her expectation that the equipments made available to the school would be helpful to teachers in keeping themselves updated about the modern technologies, educational materials and teaching methods so that they would be more efficient and could give better education to the students. 

Speakers in the ceremony, member of Federal Parliament of the country, Navaraj Silwal, chief guest of the event, Federal Parliament member from state 3, Lal Kumari Pun, mayor of Godavari municipality, Gajendra Maharjan, Country Director of Educate the Children Nepal, Mira Maiya Singh Rana, appreciated the support to the school, and expressed their expectation of such supports in the future. 

The bank has its presence in countries in Asia, Europe, America and Africa and it has a registered Representative office in Nepal since October 2010, providing international banking services to the business communities, commercial banks and the central bank of Nepal for over a decade.
