Lumbini Technological University is set to commence its classes from Mangsir 20 (6th of December). The university has completed all necessary preparations for taking classes for 'BTech in CS and AI' and 'BTech in IT.' In the inaugural year, both programs have enrolled 24 students each. An orientation program for students will be conducted on Wednesday.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Vinod Prasad Dhakal expressed that the Lumbini state government has established the university to provide high-quality technical education. He assured the university would adhere to timely course completion and result announcements. Additionally, he emphasized a ban on political activities within the university, focusing on practical education for students.
Professor Krishna Prasad Ghimire, a member of the University Service Commission, stressed the importance of practical education. He mentioned that the university aims to deliver education with a practical approach. State Secretary Suman Ghimire echoed this sentiment, highlighting the effectiveness of practical education over theoretical learning.
Noting the high demand for technicians in the global market, Suman Ghimire emphasized the opportunities in the IT sector and the self-sufficiency it can offer educated individuals.
The university announced its plan to offer full scholarships to four individuals and regular fee-based education to 12 students in both programs, with a fixed capacity of 48 students each.
The B.Tech in CS & AI is a four-year course covering computer science and AI, with a fee of 160,000 for 12 students and 425,000 for the full fee. Similarly, B Tech in IT, a four-year course, includes subjects like IT principles, computer systems, programming languages, networking, database, and software development, with a regular fee of 130,000 and a full fee of 620,000 for 12 students.
