Lay emphasis on public education: Experts

Experts have laid emphasis on improving quality in public education to make it more useful and relevant. 

At an interaction 'Public education: where did we lose?', organized by Nepal Alternative Study Society here on Sunday, the experts underlined that the educational attainment should be useful for the individual, society and nation. 

On the occasion, education expert Kedar Bhakta Mathema said the notion of 'my school' has to be changed to 'our school' along with amendments to the traditional learning system for quality enhancement in public education. "Every activity of the student should be taken care from learning perspective", he said. 

Likewise, lawmaker Ram Kumari Jhankri pointed out the need of reforms in public education. Sociologist Tilak Biswokarma highlighted the need to design and deliver education in a way address multiple social needs. 

"Education that could unleash and manifest skill, capacity and art of every individual is the need of the hour", he noted.
Prof Dr Abhi Subedi said the education has lost its quality due to wrong political perspective. "In order to make education relevant, curriculum should be amended to address the need of the hour".
