Kathmandu University and Madhesh University sign MoU to Foster Academic Excellence

Kathmandu University (KU) and Madhesh University (MU) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster academic exchange and cooperation between the two institutions. The proposed collaboration aims to design joint educational programs for the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels.

Other proposed collaborative activities are as follows: 

  1. Exchange of materials, publications, and information 
  2. Faculty and staff exchange
  3. Joint research and meetings for research
  4. Joint development and implementation of academic programs 
  5. Exchange of students 
  6. Mutual recognition of credits 

KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Bhola Thapa and MU Vice Chancellor Dr. Dipak Shakya signed the MoU amid a function in the capital on Tuesday.

On the occasion, Thapa expressed the hope that the collaboration would help develop higher education in Madhesh Province. Similarly, Shakya said the partnership would inspire Madhesh University to provide quality education in the coming days.

This collaboration aims to strengthen academic and research excellence in both institutions and foster cooperation, it has been said.

Established in December 1991, Kathmandu University (KU) is an autonomous, not-for-profit, self-funding public university known for its academic and research excellence. On the other hand, MU, a skill-based academic and research university, was founded by the Madhesh Province Government in 2022.
