KMC Begins Grade 8 Mark Entry; Results to Be Out Next Week
A-Levels 2025

The Education Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has begun entering Grade 8 final exam marks into the Integrated Educational Information Management System (EMIS).

According to Education Officer Indra Prasad Dahal, the process began after resource centers decoded the answer sheets and sent them to the department. The results are expected to be published next week.

Dahal explained that the answer sheets were coded on the day of the exam, evaluated by assigned teachers at the resource centers, and then decoded before being sent to the department. Marks are being entered over three days, with a verification process scheduled for the fourth day before final result publication.

A total of 18,294 students from 504 schools took part in the exam, including 5,174 from community schools and 13,120 from institutional schools. Among them, 8,145 were female, 10,149 male, and 10 were foreign students from five institutional schools.

Special arrangements were made for students from Jagannath Secondary School and Bandi Bikas Basic School located inside Bhadragol Jail, where 31 out of 32 registered students participated. Additionally, 27 students from the Central Secondary School for the Deaf sat for the exam.

This year, to enhance the credibility and organization of the exams, 56 external centers were used, except for students with special needs and those in prisons, who were allowed to take exams at their respective schools.
