Interaction Program with World Bank Team at Lumbini Banijya Campus

A high-level team from World Bank visited Lumbini Banijya Campus and interacted with Management Committee, faculties, staffs and students. Faris Hadad Zervos, Country Manager of World Bank, Lynn Sherbourne Benz, Regional Director for South Asia for Education, Health and Social Protection, Kari Hurt, Senior Health Specialist, Gabriel Dedu, Senior Governance Specialist, Mohan Aryal, Senior Education Specialist, Manav Bhattarai, Senior Health Specialist and Jasmine Raj Bhandari were in the team.

Speaking in the interaction, Country Manager Mr. Faris said that the Campus should focus on imparting quality education to contribute in social and economic activities of the local community. He further added that trainings and Skills development programs should be in the prime concern for the growth of the students. Similarly, Regional Director for South Asia for Education, Health and Social Protection Lynn Sherbourne stressed on the importance of producing qualified graduates for all-round development of Nepal. She also emphasized the inclusion of mid-term trainings and skills development programs by co-coordinating and collaborating with the Government Agencies. Kari Hurt, Senior Health Specialist, stated that the students should be guided to be as young entrepreneurs by building entrepreneurship skillsin them.

Vice-Chairperson, Provincial Planning Commission, Province No.-5 Prof. Dr. Ishwor Gautam said that the State Government is fully dedicated to supporting the development of the Campus. Similarly, Deputy Mayor of Butwal Sub-metropolitan Goma Devi Acharya showed her commitment for the growth of the Campus. She further said that there will be full support from the local government for the promotion and growth of the Campus. Campus Chief Prof. Dr. Tara Prasad Upadhyaya responded the queries put forward by the team. After the interaction, the team observed and visited and the departments, cells and around the Campus.
