Health and educational condition of State 2 in sorry state: Health Minister

Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Upendra Yadav today said the situation of health and education of State 2 was in a sorry state. He suggested campaigns to make the people of the state aware of health and their diet. 

He referred to comparatively more people of the state suffering from various diseases like heart attack, kidney problem and diabetes due to their bad eating habit. 

DPM and Health Minister Yadav also referred to Kathmandu's hospitals being packed by patients most of them reportedly from the state. Minister Yadav was inaugurating a building for a Janakpur branch of the Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre, Janakpur amid a function. 

The federal government has released budget for the construction of a cancer hospital in the state, and the process of acquiring lands for the project has reached the last phase, he said, adding that Bharatpur cancer hospital would also help in this regard. 

Chief Minister of the state Lalbabu Raut stressed the need for making Janakpur hospital a model hospital. A cath lab would be established in the Centre's branch in the next 70 days, informed Nawal Kishor Sah, minister for Social Development of the state. 

Likewise, mayor of Janakpurdham Sub Metropolitan City Lal Kishor Sah underscored the need for upgrading Janakpur hospital. The hospital chief Dr Nagendra Prasad Yadav demanded Rs 100 million from the government for the hospital to expand service.
