Three days after tabling the bills for the establishment of two new universities, the government has presented another bill in the parliament to set-up one more deemed university in the country.

Minister for Health and Population Khaga Raj Adhikari on Friday presented a bill on the establishment of Pokhara Academy of Heath and Sciences for the discussion in the parliament. On Tuesday, Minister for Education Chitra Lekha Yadav had presented the bills for the establishment of Nepalgunj University and Rajarshi Janak (RJ) University. If these three bills are endorsed by the parliament, the numbers of universities in the country would climb to 11 while there will four deemed universities in the country.

The proposal for the establishment of new universities comes at a time where the universities established in 2010 are still struggling for full fledged operation and the numbers of students in the university level is significantly decreasing every year.

A recent government's economic survey shows the students in the various universities in the country have decreased by one third just in the numbers. The number of students, which 604,437 during the fiscal year 2013-14, dropped around 33 percent to 405,341 within a year.
