The University Grants Commission (UGC) awarded accreditation certificates to the two higher education institutions (HEIs) in a ceremony held at the UGC Seminar Hall on Kartik 9, 2081.
Among two institutions, Sukuna Multiple Campus and Global College International were awarded for the second and first cycles of quality assurance and accreditation, respectively. UGC Chairperson Prof. Dr. Dev Raj Adhikari handed over the accreditation certificates to the awarded HEIs.
Vice-Chancellor of Mid-West University Prof. Dr. Dhruba Kumar Gautam, UGC Secretary Prof. Shankar Prasad Bhandari, PRT Team leaders for respective HEIs; Prof. Dr. Tirth Raj Khaniya and Prof. Dr. Mana Prasad Wagley, Technical Advisor of UGC Prof. Dr. Hridaya Ratna Bajracharya, Director of EQAAC Secretariat Prof. Dr. Rejina Maskey, IQAC Director of Tribhuvan University Dr. Prem Bahadur Thapa, authorities from accredited institutions, and UGC officials were among others who attended the award ceremony.
Sukuna Multiple Campus was established in 2048 B.S. and is situated in Sundarharaicha Municipality-12, Morang, Koshi Province. It is a community campus affiliated to Tribhuvan University. The campus offers academic programs such as BBS, BBA, BICTE, B.Ed., BA, and B.Sc., M.Ed., MBS. The institution embarked on its second cycle of the accreditation journey with the submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI), which was accepted on Falgun 19, 2076. Subsequently, its self-study report (SSR) received approval on Ashad 17, 2078.
Global College International was established in 2013 A.D. and is under private ownership located in Kathmandu Metropolitan City (31), Kathmandu, Bagmati Province. It set the record of being first accredited under MU.
It is affiliated to Mid-West University; the campus offers academic programs at both the bachelor and master level in the BBA, BHM, BTTM, and MBA programs. The journey of accreditation for the first cycle began with the submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI) and its acceptance on Srawan 18, 2077. The self-study report (SSR) of the campus was accepted on Jestha 22, 2079.
Each institution embarked on its accreditation journey by submitting a Letter of Intent (LOI) and subsequently went through all the necessary stages of the QAA process, which include approving their self-study report (SSR), peer review team (PRT) formation, undergoing assessment visits, i.e., preparatory assessment visits and final PRT visits, and the submission of a response report based on the recommendation provided during the assessment. Following this, the Educational Quality Assessment and Accreditation Council (EQAAC) recommended the UGC Board to award accreditation to the institution.
The UGC Board decided to award accreditation to the Sukuna Multiple Campus on Asoj 20, 2081, and Global College International on Asoj 4, 2081. A cycle of accreditation is valid for five years.
