Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Ashok Kumar Rai has instructed Kathmandu University to swiftly lift the suspension imposed on Dr. Bishad Dahal, a residential physician at Kathmandu Medical College. The directive was issued in Rai's capacity as the Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University.

The Minister, serving as the Vice-Chancellor, provided these instructions, a move that holds significance given Rai's position. Secretary Suresh Adhikari of the ministry communicated this directive to the Parliament's Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee today. Adhikari clarified that the university would establish criteria for the suspension only after Dr. Dahal's release.

The Minister's directive revealed that doctors were given instructions to conduct health camps only after the university issued criteria. Dr. Dahal had been suspended from his duties in a camp 12 days ago, a decision that drew attention and criticism from the parliamentary committee for its perceived deviation from established rules.
