Tribhuvan University (TU) has welcomed Prof. Dr. Kedar Prasad Rijal as its new registrar, effective April 12. He was appointed into the esteemed position by Prime Minister and Chancellor of the University, Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The process for this appointment commenced back on March 28, when Dr. Rijal's candidacy was set in motion, endorsed by Vice Chancellor Keshar Jung Baral. However, due to being asked to reconsider by PM Dahal, the process was prolonged.
Dr. Rijal, who specializes in solid waste management, environmental modeling, statistical analysis, and policy formulation, had commenced a new role as the dean of the Faculty of Science, Health, and Technology at Nepal Open University, as part of a deputation.
Prof. Dr. Kedar Prasad Rijal, who hails from Tokha Municipality Ward 11 in Kathmandu, has been a professor of Environmental Science. He previously served as the Head of the Department of Environmental Science and was also the Dean of the Science, Health, and Technology Faculty at Nepal Open University. Dr. Rijal obtained his doctoral degree in Environmental Science from Pune University in India.
