Dhulabari Campus Becomes First Community Campus to Offer Civil Engineering Programs

Dhulabari Campus, located in Jhapa, has recently been granted permission to offer civil engineering programs. On Bhadra 15, the Nepal Engineering Council officially approved the inclusion of engineering faculty in its educational curriculum.

In a significant development, Purbanchal University has given the green light to seventeen campuses across the nation to establish engineering faculties. Notably, Dhulabari Campus has the honor of being the very first community campus to secure this approval.

Campus Head Pusparaj Poudyal expressed his pride, stating, "We are thrilled to announce that we are the pioneering community campus in the country to attain teaching affiliation from the Engineering Council. This accomplishment brings pride not only to our city but to the entire district."

Campus Chief Poudyal provided insights into the educational landscape, highlighting the presence of 563 community campuses nationwide. Among these, Dhulabari Campus stands alone as the sole institution authorized to offer undergraduate-level engineering programs. Poudyal emphasized, "We are trailblazers in providing engineering courses within public campuses."

Established in 2048, Dhulabari Campus occupies a vast seven-bigha area in Raghuveer Bari within Mechinagar-10. Bhim Khawas, the chairman of the campus management committee, shared the challenges they faced in obtaining engineering permission for Dhulabari. Khawas expressed, "Despite overcoming numerous hurdles, we have successfully brought an engineering campus to our city, and now it requires the wholehearted support and affection of the community."
