Dadeldhura Medical College has received the official nod from the Medical Education Commission (MEC) to start its educational journey in Medical Lab Technology. Approval comes from the government declaring Dadeldhura Hospital as a fully-fledged medical college.
Chairman of the Dadeldhura Hospital Development Committee, Mr. Karunakar Ojha, said that the Medical Education Commission has approved the commencement of the Bachelor's program in Medical Lab Technology. The college allocated 10 coveted seats for aspiring students to pursue this field.
Mr. Ojha further divulged that the entrance examination for the program is slated for the 18th of Kartik, as per the Nepali calendar, with classes set to roll out in Magh.
Dr. Hemnath Joshi, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Far-Western University, shed light on the institution's ambitious academic offerings. In addition to the Bachelor's program in Medical Lab Technology, Dadeldhura Medical College has petitioned the Medical Education Commission for permission to introduce courses in Public Health, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and B.Sc. Nursing. The Commission's team conducted an extensive review, and after a rigorous selection process, the College secured approval for one program.
To accommodate the growing demand for medical education, Far-Western University has secured a substantial 84 ropani of land in Amargadhi Municipality-8, near Kirtipur, to construct the medical college. The construction work is currently in full swing. Dadeldhura Hospital has also played a pivotal role by generously offering 153 ropanis of land for the college, with an additional 191 ropanis of land dedicated to supporting its operations.
