Kathmandu, March 26 (RSS): Spokesperson of Nepal Communist Party, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has said commercialization of private schools in education sector would be ended and quality of the community schools enhanced, so that it could contribute to the country's campaign of prosperity.

During a programme organized by the Shikshyalaya monthly to congratulate the newly elected office bearers of Private and Boarding Schools Organization here Tuesday, Spokesperson Shrestha reminded that his party had not struggled for status quo. Establishment of communist government should be linked to socialism oriented education, he argued.

He however said without ensuring positive change and quality in the education, prosperity was impossible. "For this to happen, party and government are committed. We don't think the private schools be closed immediately but give priority to the reform in public education," the Spokesperson stressed.

PABSON Chairman Tikaram Puri suggested the political leaderships and government to introduce new policy and laws on education in view of private schools' contribution and property rights. The Spokesperson also released a book named Shikshyapath published by the monthly. The book included articles by and profiles of 49 private school founders and teachers.

Journalist at the National News Agency (RSS), Prakash Silwal, made comments on the book, saying it would serve as a good reference and resource material for those who want to do research on private schools and their contribution to education in Nepal.
