The Central Bureau of Statistics has expedited preparations for the National Census 2078. The census is being conducted for the first time since the country went into federalism.
The department will have enumerators and supervisors deployed for the census. The department has stated that about 39,000 enumerators and 8,000 supervisors will be recruited on a contract basis, amounting to a total of 45,000 employment opportunities.
Interested candidates are called upon to submit their application forms to the concerned authority by the 11th of Chaitra, 2077.
In the past, teachers were assigned as enumerators and supervisors, but this time unemployed youth will be mobilized. Director DhundhiRaj Lamichhane said that the aim was to create employment for the youth for some time. According to him, unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 45 will be recruited for the census. Enumerators and supervisors will be recruited by advertising online. Preparations have been made to mobilize teachers only for training, monitoring, and publicity.
Earlier, the census was conducted in 2058 BS and 2068 BS using the full census method and sample selection method respectively. This time the census will be conducted using the full census method.
Eligibility
SUPERVISOR
Nepali citizens who have reached the following qualifications as per Article 13 of the National Census Operation Guideline 2077 may apply for the post of Supervisor.
Minimum Educational Qualification: Graduated or equivalent.
Age: 18 (eighteen) years of age and 40 years of age by the last date to apply. In the case of women, 45 years is the maximum age limit.
Local-level: Citizens residing at the concerned local level.
ENUMERATOR
Nepali citizens who have reached the following qualifications as per Article 13 of the National Census Operation Guideline 2077 can apply for the post of the enumerator.
Minimum Educational Qualification: Passed 10+2 or equivalent.
Age: 18 (eighteen) years of age and 40 (forty) years of age by the last date to apply. In the case of women, 45 years is the maximum age limit.
Local-level: Citizens residing at the concerned local level.
