Call for Letter of Intention (Lol) for
Quality Assurance and AccreditationUniversity Grants Commission (UGC) announces LOI call for participation in Quality Assurance and Accreditation from all interested Central Departments, Campuses (Constituent, Community and Private) and University Schools (Higher Education Institutions, HEls) meeting the following eligibility criteria:
Eligibility Criteria
- Must have at
least 50% full time faculty members
- HEls offering
professional courses must have met the minimum criteria stated by the
respective professional councils
- Must have full
time Executive Head and Head of Departments (HoDs)
- Must have
produced at least 2 batches of graduates
- In the case of
an affiliated campus, it must be affiliated to only one university.
- Must have at
least 150 students* (Not applicable to Central Departments/ Schools of
Universities and the institutions
running students quota based specific program or university norms of respective
professional council) Additional criteria for Private HEls
- Institutions
running on leased properties must have a plan for institutional sustainability
and continuity including their own
infrastructure development plan and commitment to implement the plan within
five years.
- The institutions must have set aside at
least 10% of its total budget for the academic/ institutional development. Note: UGC, QAAD accepts LOI throughout a year. Institutions that
qualify for eligibility will duly be notified by QAA Division, UGC. The Proforma for Lol can be downloaded from the UGC
website.
