Code of conduct that was implemented by Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) which stated not to use the photos of students, educationist and other personalities for promotion of their institute has been found violated across the nation. But many colleges from corner to corner of the nation have been found violating this code of conduct openly.

Nepal Mega College is candidly advertising their college using name of Dristi Giri, SLC topper of the year 2070 as she is enrolled in that college. Similarly, Florida Academy of sinamangal is publishing its student photos with the percent which too is against the code of conduct.

These two colleges are just an example of how excessively colleges are violating rules set by HSEB. Many colleges in valley are carrying out their work from a very different place instead of the place of registration while some colleges have even changed their name without seeking permission. Many of the colleges are even found not showing scholarship given to students in a transparent manner.

Umesh Shrestha, chairperson of HISSAN, Higher Secondary School Association of Nepal, said they are too against the trend of using photos are other material of students. He further added those colleges that are found guilty should be punished strictly by HSEB. He also admitted that even member colleges of HISSAN are found violating the rules. He informed that HISSAN is making an effort to check these ill mannered behaviors of colleges and also making an effort to make the scholarship distribution more transparent.

Where as to this issue Dambar Batash, Deputy Director of Higher secondary education board said they sought clarification from some HSS including Princeton, Welhams, Nepal Mega College and Florida about their ads which violated the rule to which only Mega College submitted their clarification.

Batash added, if HSEB is not satisfied with the clarification given by HSS, they would take an action against colleges.
