The Public Service Commission of Nepal conducts an open and internal competitive examination to recruit candidates for the Technical Assistant (Food Technology) position.

This position offers permanent employment within the agricultural service sector. Selected candidates must be willing to work at any designated agricultural facility or office. Salary and benefits are provided according to the prevailing rules and regulations. 

This examination aims to identify and select the most qualified individuals. The selection process is rigorous and consists of two main phases: a written examination and an interview.

Written Examination

This is the first phase of the selection process, with a total of 200 marks. The medium of language for the written exam will be Nepali, English, or both. Candidates are required to take two papers, which will be conducted separately.

The first paper covers General Awareness, Public Management, and Job-Based Knowledge. It carries a full mark of 100, with a pass mark of 40. This paper consists of objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and lasts for 45 minutes. 

The second paper focuses on Job-Based Knowledge and includes subjective long and short questions. It also carries a full mark of 100, with a pass mark of 40, and the exam duration is 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The second phase of this examination is further divided into two parts: Practical Examination and Interview. The practical examination requires students to score at least 25 out of 50 to pass, and it lasts for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The interview is an oral examination with a total of 30 marks.

Interview

Candidates who pass the written examination will proceed to the second phase, which is the interview. This phase carries 30 marks and evaluates the candidate's interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and suitability for the role of an assistant.

Eligibility

Educational Qualification

Agriculture, Food Technology and Quality Control, Technical Assistant Position

The applicant should have passed I.Tech. in Food Technology or a 3-year diploma in Food Technology or equivalent from a recognized institution.

Note: The minimum educational qualifications for various groups under Agricultural Services, as specified in the explanation of section 62, number 36, part 5 of the Nepal Gazette published on 2069/08/25, will not apply to civil servants who entered the service before the publication of this notice. Such civil servants will be subject to the provisions mentioned in the existing rules.

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 18 and not over 35 years old. The maximum age limit for women and people with disability is 40 years. 

There is no age limit for permanent staff of the Government of Nepal currently in service. 

Syllabus

The written exam will cover questions from all syllabus sections as much as possible.

Notwithstanding anything written in the subject matter of the papers/subjects under this curriculum scheme, any laws, acts, rules, and policies included in the curriculum that have been amended, repealed, or added within 3 months prior to the exam date will be considered as the ones in effect for the exam.
