Kathmandu University Management Admission Test (KUMAT)

 · Entrance

KUMAT, the Kathmandu University Management Admission Test, serves as the entrance examination for the MBA program at Kathmandu University.

KUSOM Management Admission Test (KUMAT), consists of verbal and quantitative reasoning, data interpretation, and proficiency in English language.

KUMAT is designed following the GMAT format and is divided into two sections: Verbal Comprehension and Quantitative Aptitude.

  1. The Verbal Comprehension section includes three papers: sentence correction, critical reasoning, and reading comprehension.
  2. The Quantitative Aptitude section consists of three papers: problem solving, data sufficiency, and logical reasoning.

KUMAT is conducted as a paper and pencil test and solely consists of multiple-choice questions.

In KUMAT, the use of calculators is prohibited. Additionally, the test employs a negative scoring system where 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer. This means that for every four wrong answers, one correct answer will be nullified.

It's important to note that the KUMAT test score is valid only for the current admission season. If you wish to apply for the next batch of admissions, you will need to go through the admission process again.

However, the KUSOM Admission Committee has the possibility of accepting a valid standard GMAT score as a substitute for KUMAT. In such cases, you would need to submit a separate application along with the GMAT scorecard.
