MPhil (Master of Philosophy) is a research based post-graduate degree leading the graduates to further their study to PhD. It is designed to motivate the graduates to be involved in quality research, expanding the horizons of theoretical understanding. The contextual course, in tandem with the global scenarios and local requirements, will ensure the potential careers of the graduates in the field of educational studies.
Target Groups:
MPhil Program in Education is targeted primarily to those working individuals, who are unable to join the conventional (face-to-face) education system in the conventional universities, yet willing to pursue advanced level courses under the umbrella of Educational Studies.
Learning Outcomes:
- Exhibit a deeper understanding of theoretical /factual conceptual and philosophical mapping in the given discipline;
- Utilize and apply research tools (with quantitative, qualitative and/or mixed approaches) in the given field of sociological research /inquiry;
- Adapt theories and tools flexibly and apply in a new field of research;
- Prepare a write up for peer-reviewed International research journals;
- Carry out research and solve complex problems independently;
- Push the disciplinary boundary forward by making new and significant contribution to existing state of art.
Eligibility
Candidates with MEd or Master in Pedagogical Sciences or Master in Educational Studies with second division or CGPA 2.7 will be eligible. For candidates with Master Degree securing second division or CGPA 2.7 in any discipline other than Education background will also be eligible for this program. These candidates will have to take up an additional three-credit introductory course.
