INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY

The University follows the credit System for its Bachelor’s Degree Programme. Each Credit amounts to 30 hours of study comprising all learning activities. To successfully complete this program, you will have to earn 96 credits over a period of 3 to 6 years depending on your convenience. However, you will not be allowed to earn more than 32 credits in a year.
Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Commerce (B.Com)
Objectives: The programme aims at helping a learner develop competency in basic aspects of commerce.
Structure: All the courses of the B.Com programme can be classified under three major components.
MINIMUM DURATION IS 3 YEARS AND MAXIMUM DURATION IS 6 YEARS.
EXAMINATION:
The examination will be taken by IGNOU through ICA.
ADMISSION SESSION:
The admission in B.Com is taken for July and January sessions.
ACADEMIC COUNSELING SESSION:

Eligibility
A person with 10+2 qualification is eligible for admission. Non 10+2 candidates who have completed Bachelors Preparatory Programme (BPP) of the University are also eligible for admission.

- Transcript of SLC & +2 Level (2 copies each)
- 2 PP size and 2 Auto size Photographs
- For proof of date of Birth one should submit Xerox copy of valid passport / citizenship/driving license/ (2 copies of any one) (Note: Date of birth should be mention in AD)

In the category of elective courses, the student has to obtain a minimum of 48 credits from the Elective Courses in Commerce and the remaining 8 or 16 credits from the elective courses of other disciplines, Viz, Hindi, English, Political Science, Sociology, Rural Development and Mathematics. In the category of application-oriented courses, the student has to select 8 or 16 credits from a list of courses that are on offer.
