ABOUT
Yjnayavalkya Lakshminarayan Vidyapeeth (याज्ञवल्क्य लक्ष्मीनारायण विद्यापीठ, मटिहानी) was established in 1774 CE (1801 B.S) by King Hema Karna Sen of Makwanpur and a sage named Tasmaiya Baba in Matihani village of Nepal. It is one of the oldest educational institutions of Nepal and has helped in establishing Matihanias a centre for Sanskrit and Hindu Vedic education in Nepal.
The Vidyapeeth is affiliated with Nepal Sanskrit University and is offering Uttar madhyam, Shastri and Prakshastri.
The Vodyapeeth was originally a temple built by King Hema Karna Sen dedicated to Lakshmi Narayana and a sage named Tasmaiya Baba stared teaching Sanskrit below the Peepul tree located in the temple.
