ABOUT
In 2012 A.D. Nepal Buddhist Council took initiation to open Sugat Bouddha Mahavidyalaya in Lalitpur to conduct MA program in Buddhist Studies (Mahayana Stream).
It was formally inaugurated on 11 Aug. 2012 by the VC of LBU amidst a function attended by various Buddhist scholars, university authorities, educationists and the stakeholders.
The guest speakers and college authorities expressed their commitment to run the program and uplift academic standard of Buddhist Studies in Nepal. The Vice-Chancellor of LBU promised to extend full support to develop the College.
The colleges aims to instill moral values like integrity, responsibility, empathy, collaboration and respect in their students to become ood human beings while also nurturing their full potential which are the main objectives of Buddhism.
Mission
Sugata Buddhist College with the objectives to benefit society and to foster talent to bring reform in Nepalese society by disseminating Buddhist Knowledge in true perspective. The scholars produced from the College are skilled as academic researchers.
Our qualified and experienced teachers, support and facilitate our students not only to achieve academic excellence, but also implement the buddhist phylosophy in their life and produce responsible citizen to the county and spread knowledge through them.
Vision
Our vision is to spread out Mahāyāna Buddhism while understanding and cooperating with various other yānas of Buddhism and other religions and cultural values in the society. Sugata Buddhist College has been formed to give students the actual philosophy as per Mahāyāna Buddhism.
