Southasia Institute for History and Philosophy (SiHP) is an academic and research-focused institution committed to exploring the social, technical, and environmental dimensions of Southasia, with history and philosophy at its core. Established in 2024 as a Company Not-Distributing-Profit, SiHP is driven by a team of individuals who bring decades of expertise in academic research, regional media, education, scholarship, archiving, environmental activism, heritage preservation, legal support, disability advocacy, corporate leadership, and institution-building.
SiHP seeks to strengthen collaborations with leading universities, research bodies, and policy organizations working on Southasia, aiming to address inequalities, bridge knowledge gaps, and confront pressing environmental risks and societal challenges in the region.
At the heart of its academic vision is the Graduate Centre for Society, Technology, and Environment, which will offer an MA in History and Philosophy with three specialized streams—Society, Technology, and Environment. Through this initiative, SiHP aspires to cultivate critical inquiry, foster regional understanding, and contribute to shaping a more equitable and informed Southasia.
