ABOUT

ED-MARK College is a college established with a group of high professionals with excellent management systems dedicated to providing quality education. It was established in 2007 A.D. and is located in Kalanki, Kathmandu. 

The college is affiliated with the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) has been running its +2 programs in Science, Management, Humanities, and Law. At its graduate level, it is affiliated with Tribhuvan University offering BBS, BBA, and BCA programs. 

It proves its ‘ED-MARK’ Experience with outstanding teaching and learning facilities, serving instruction and support from highly qualified and experienced faculty members. Advancement in technology such as teaching aided by audio-visual, and group discussions, an extensive library with access to the wide ranges of textbooks, reference books, periodicals, and magazines provide students exposed to reach to the depth of knowledge and information.

It ranges to courses tailored to an individual's choice, professional career advice, and support. It adequates the umber of laboratories for respective subjects, orientation to basic computer skills.

Salient Features

Auditourium

Situated on the top floor of the college building, the auditorium is one of the busiest venues on campus. An Air-conditioned auditorium with the capacity of 120 people has a stage, a podium, and is audio-visually equipped. Free WiFi facility is available here with high-speed internet. It has wonderful acoustics and a warm and welcoming ambiance. It is a perfect venue for musical, dance, drama performances, as well as lectures & conferences.

Canteen

A canteen facility is available for students. A wide variety of snacks and lunch items are available in the canteen. A quality assurance team consisting of faculty, staff, and students of the institute examines the food quality and general hygiene on regular basis in both the canteen.

The college has a spacious canteen facility on the college premises and is run by college management. A variety of food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college at highly subsidized rates with the highest quality. Our college canteen is blessed with a family atmosphere, with a variety of delicacies, touched by a homemade flavor, cooked to perfection, and served with great courtesy. Refreshments are available at the college canteen at affordable rates. Adequate seating facilities are provided to accommodate students and staff even during peak time.

The canteen has a big kitchen with a steam cooking facility and kitchen staff take extra care too. We provide our students with an excellent canteen, modern & hygienic. The dishes prepared here are delicious, and nutritious as well. Food items are prepared with RO-treated water. As well as offering healthy food on a daily basis, the canteen runs a number of ‘special days’ and promotions during the year.

Timings:

The canteen will be opened from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on all working days.

IT Center

We have two computers lab having 35 Core-i5 latest computers and 25 Computers respectively with 1 Mbps high-speed internet with free wifi facility.

Any student can be benefited from this lab. They can search for any things relevant to the course, visit e-libraries, discuss in official Facebook groups and pages.

Laboratory

The College is situated in a modern building fully equipped to the highest of technical specifications in the heart of Kathmandu City, Kalanki.

The building contains a conference facility, spacious classrooms, IT labs, a student common room, canteen facilities, photocopying facilities, learning resources center, sports & fitness facilities, free wifi, an uninterrupted power supply, and free parking.

The college has a well-equipped computer lab with the latest personal computers. The students can use the computer under the guidance of lab assistants and concerned teachers according to the schedule. 24 hours computer internet facilities will be provided to all students.

College offers sophisticated laboratories for different faculties and departments.

  1. Highly equipped Physics, Chemistry, and Biology labs.
  2. Upgraded Computer labs with Internet facilities.
  3. Provision of Hotel Management training and practice in advanced training centers, Start Hotels and Resorts.
  4. Stipulation of field visits for Mass communication and Sociology students in different Media houses and different places as well.

Library

There are many resources in our Libraries to help you with your studies including; over 30,000 books, journals, newspapers, and DVDs. Additionally, there is a wealth of online resources. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, our friendly team of Library staff is always on hand to offer advice. The library stock is increasing at a rate of approximately 1,000 books a year. The library also subscribes to over 100 current periodicals and to a range of electronic journals and databases. The library is supervised by a committee consisting of the librarian and three members of the faculty. The day-to-day running of the library is conducted by the librarian who is assisted by the library staff and trainee. The library holdings will be checked annually by the library staff.

Role of the Library Staff in Helping Users

During normal working hours, the librarian and other library staff will assist the users. They will also assist in obtaining necessary reference material for individual users from other institutions. The library will provide necessary services to obtain personal subscriptions or book purchases through teaching/book grants for faculty and students. Reprints both personal or for reference can be ordered through the library. The cost incurred for these services is charged to the individual or the grant concerned.


Admission Guidelines

Eligibility:

For +2 program in Science: Students will enroll in grade 11 Science Subject Group (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics/Computer Science/Agriculture) must score

  • GPA: 2.0
  • C+ in Science and Math
  • D+ English, Nepali, and Social Studies

For +2 program in Management:

Students will enroll in grade 11 and study the following subjects (Mathematics/Accountancy/Economics/Computer Science/Teaching Mathematics/Elements of Finance/Jyotish/Business Mathematics/Cooperative Management, Business Studies/Geography/Psychology) must score

  • GPA: 1.6
  • D+ English, Nepali, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies

For the +2 program in Humanities: Students must have completed SEE or equivalent with a minimum GPA of 1.6. He/She should have a minimum D+ in English, Nepali, and Social Studies.

For +2 program in Law: Candidates seeking admission in Ten Plus Two (+2) Law program must have secured a 1.6 GPA.

For BBA programs:

  • Students who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations from the recognized academic institute with second division (securing 45% and above) or 1.8 CGPA are eligible to enroll in this program. 
  • Successfully completed twelve-year schooling or its equivalent from any university, board, or institution recognized by Tribhuvan University.
  • Complied with all the application procedures.

Eligible applicants are required to appear in the entrance test commonly known as the Central Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted by the Faculty of Management. The test will follow the international testing pattern and standards. It includes the areas like:

  • Verbal ability
  • Quantitative ability
  • Logical reasoning
  • General awareness

For BBS programs:

The candidate applying for admission to the BBS program of Tribhuvan University:

  1. must have successfully completed the PCL or 10+2 in business/commerce or an equivalent course from a Higher Secondary School Board, or from Tribhuvan University, or from any other University/Board recognized by TU.
  2.  Must have scored at least D Plus  (D+) in each subject in 10+2.

For BCA programs:

Students who have passed +2 or equivalent securing at least 45% are eligible to study the BCA program of Purbanchal University. Students who have secured 45% in +2 Science, +2 Management, +2 Humanities, +2 Education, CTEVT Diploma/PCL are eligible to apply.

Admission Procedure

1.    Entrance Exam:

  • Students should face an interview during the submission of the admission form.
  • Edmark will set an entrance exam. The entrance date time and center of the Entrance Exam will be informed during the submission of the admission form.
  • The entrance exam will be computer-based, model questions will be provided along with the admission form.
  • Answers will be checked by computer so students are suggested to follow the instructions given by invigilators.
  • The result of entrance will be published on the same day of examination or will be informed during the examination.
  • Students can get results via SMS or through a website.
  • Students who are listed in the merit list are informed to admit directly. The deadline of admission will be given along with the result.

2.    Admission:

Students who are enlisted in admission from entrance results can be admitted within the deadline.

Edmark will publish a higher number of students on the merit list than its intake capacity so students are informed to get admission before the seats are fulfilled.

Students should fill up an admission form which will be available from college reception after the announcement of the result of grade 12 (NEB). The form should be submitted at college reception during office time (7:00 am - 4:30 pm).

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Edmark will provide a wide range of scholarships to deserving students on a first come first serve basis. Students are advised to get admission before fulfillment of the scholarship quota.
