Curriculum Structure

The BHCM curriculum is thoughtfully structured around eight core components, ensuring students receive a balanced education in both health sciences and management:

  1. Foundation Courses
    Focus on communication, mathematics, IT, economics, sociology, and psychology to build a strong academic base.
  2. Management Core Courses
    Develop competence in marketing, HR, finance, strategic management, and research methods.
  3. Professional Health Management Core Courses
    Cover health program planning, evaluation, policy, and healthcare systems management.
  4. Professional Hospital Management Core Courses
    Address operational aspects of hospital administration, quality control, and service delivery.
  5. Concentration Area Courses
    Students may choose to specialize in either Health Management or Hospital Management through tailored concentration modules.
  6. Elective Courses
    Broaden students’ perspectives in healthcare, behavioral sciences, and public health issues.
  7. Internships (3 Cycles)
    Students complete three seven-week internships in hospitals, health organizations, or health projects. Evaluation is based on:
    • Supervisor Evaluation: 50%
    • Report Submission: 25%
    • Presentation: 25%
  8. Project Work
    Students undertake a field-based research project involving data collection, empirical analysis, and formal reporting as per Pokhara University guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the BHCM program, applicants must:

  • Have completed 12 years of formal education (High School or equivalent)
  • Achieved at least 2.0 CGPA or 45% marks
  • Secured a minimum of D+ in all Grade 11 and 12 subjects
  • Pass an Entrance Exam followed by an Interview

  • Completed application form (available upon payment of application fee)
