The salaries of the province (Pradesh) and local-level officials will remain the same as in the last two fiscal years.
However, there is some relief: during the budget speech for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83, presented on Jestha 15, 2082, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel announced a significant rise in the dearness allowance.
The allowance, which was previously Rs. 2,000, has now been increased to Rs. 5,000. This means government employees, including those working in the province and local levels will receive an additional Rs. 3,000 in their monthly salary package, offering some compensation amidst stagnant base salaries.
During the fiscal year 2079/80, the Nepalese Government has implemented a significant 15% increase in salaries for government officials, including those serving at the Provincial and Local Levels. This substantial adjustment aims to enhance the financial well-being of public servants across Nepal.
Within the remuneration structure for Provincial and Local Levels, compensation ranges from Rs. 38,150 at the lower end to Rs. 61,370 at the upper end. Individuals occupying various roles in these levels of governance will experience different levels of compensation according to their responsibilities and ranks.
