Eligibility & Admission Process

Merit-Based Selection

Admission to the A Level program at St. Xavier's College is purely merit-based, and your performance in the entrance exams is the top criterion for selection. In addition, the following criteria are preferred for selection.

Academic Performance

A minimum of an 'A' grade in Science, Compulsory Mathematics, Optional Mathematics, and English, along with at least a 'B+' in all other subjects.

Entrance Examination

Nearly 100-MCQ entrance test assessing:

  • Competence in Science, Mathematics, English, and Logic, based on the curriculum of grades 8, 9, and 10 for subject combinations A, B, and C.
  • Competence in Mathematics, English, and Logic based on grades 9 and 10 for subject combination D.

Interview

Candidates shortlisted after the written exams must pass an interview conducted by a panel of at least three experts. At least one parent must accompany the candidate during the interview.
