Kathmandu University, School of Arts has announced that admissions are now open for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program.

Eligibility

Students who wish to pursue a BFA degree at Kathmandu University must have earned Higher Secondary (+2), A level, or equivalent qualification in any discipline with a minimum 40% aggregate. To register at Kathmandu University, applicants must provide their academic certificates and other required documents.

Applicants who have taken their Higher Secondary examinations but are waiting for their results may also apply.  They must have taken their examinations before the application date. If selected for the course, they will receive provisional admission.

Eligibility

  • A minimum of 1.61 GPA or 40% equivalent in grade 12 or equivalent qualification (applicants with transcripts issued by NEB before 2022 should have minimum of 2 GPA or 45%).
  • GCE Advanced Level students should have passed minimum three subjects in A Level and one General Paper in AS Level. IB Level students should have passed all 6 courses with minimum 4 in each and have at least 28 marks in aggregate.

Required Documents

  • Application letter (motivation letter)
  • A CV/resume
  • Copy of Citizenship Certificate or National ID or Passport
  • 3 copies PP-size Photos
  • Transcripts (School level, 10+2/A-level or equivalent, and Bachelor’s or above for Master’s degree applicants).
  • If you are waiting for your final year’s results, you may submit certificates and mark sheets until the previous exams.
  • Certificates of all previous degrees.
  • Migration Certificate (original hardcopy to be submitted to Admissions Office post-admission)

Scholarships

Several scholarships are available in bachelor programs such as merit-based scholarship for semester toppers, need-based scholarship for students from low income families, quota scholarships (10% students in each of foreigners and disadvantaged categories), one Lalitpur Metropolitan Quota Scholarship in each program. 

Note: Students waiting for the results of their final year or semester examination of their qualifying degree can apply for provisional admission.
