Current Status of Law Education in Nepal Nepal Law Campus

If you want to find yourself intellectually challenged, a degree in Law might be your gateway!! A Law degree is one of the sought-after and respected courses. The law program has been running from the +2 level to Ph.D. in different colleges in Nepal. A law degree is the first step on the path to a career in the legal sector. However, it has a diverse sector to be engaged in. The attraction towards a law degree in Nepal has been popular among the new generation due to their interest level and wanting to be intellectually stimulated despite the challenges it comes up with.

Earlier, Law College offering LL.B program was affiliated with Patna University which later was affiliated with Tribhuvan University. Since then, legal education at a higher level became one of the integral courses of Tribhuvan University. Nepal Law Campus (NLC), Tribhuvan University is the oldest college in Nepal which is imparting legal education in Nepal since 1954. Kathmandu School of Law (KSL) and Kathmandu University School of Law are the other two colleges that offer law programs that are affiliated with Kathmandu University. Besides, Purbanchal University and Nepal Open University are also offering law degrees in Nepal.

There are numerous career options once the students graduate in law. A law degree is a gateway to a career as a lawyer, legal secretary, lecturer, management consultant, legal writer/editor, lobbyist, policy analyst, etc. A career in law does not only gives students diverse legal career options but gives financial rewards as well.
