Nepal Open University, Manbhawan, Lalitpur announces vacancy for deans positions for Management and Law, Social Sciences and Education, and Science, Health, and Technology faculties.
Eligible and Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for the vacant post within seven days of publication of this notice i.e. Falgun 12, 2079 (February 24, 2023). The application should be submitted directly in a sealed envelope or by email to searchcommittee@nou.edu.np.
Eligibility
- PhD from a recognized university in any subject related to the concerned faculty.
- At least 10 years of full-time teaching experience in the field of university and higher education.
- Worked or currently working as a professor or associate professor.
More qualifications, experience, plans, and commitments
- Demonstrated ability to lead academic, administrative, and managerial faculty: A record of experience with the evidence base,
- Details including the experience of teaching and managing open distance learning, and online learning systems and understanding the university management of this nature,
- If appointed as the dean of the faculty he applied for, a 4-year tenure strategic plan of 2500 to 3000 words for the academic and financial management and institutional development of the said faculty,
- Published research articles in peer-reviewed classified journals,
- A self-declaration that morals have been questioned in connection with any kind of corruption and corrupt behavior and that he has not been punished for criminal acts,
- A self-declaration of commitment not to take any decision from the point of view of benefiting party politics while in the position of dean.

- E-copy certificates of all your educational qualification (Graduate, Post Graduate, M Phil, and PhD).
- A certified document showing the full-time experience of working as a full-time professor or associate professor in a higher educational institution.
- E-copy of articles published in classified national and international journals and copies of books.
- If appointed as the dean of the faculty he/she applied for, a 4-year tenure strategic plan of 2500 to 3000 words for the academic and financial management and institutional development of the faculty.
- Photocopy of Nepali Citizenship Certificate
- The contact details of 2 referees including the head of the institution where he is currently employed or the head of the institution where he has worked in the past or a supervisor of a nearby institution and an academic who is familiar with him outside the institution.
- A self-declaration or letter of commitment not to join any party political organization during the tenure of Dean.
- A letter of commitment not to take any decision from the point of view of benefiting party politics while in the position of Dean.
- A certified statement clearly reveals work experience and achievements at the leadership or management level in a higher education provider institution.
- Include any other evidence that you have contributed to the academic field.
