Innovations in teaching and learning through contextualized approaches to increase the quality, relevance and sustainability of education in Nepal (NORHED RUPANTARAN Project). 

Kathmandu University, School of Education, with a grant support from Norhed under the NORHED RUPANTARAN Project (2017-2022),has been implementing research and academic interventions focusing towards enhancing access, quality and sustainability in basic education through the design of participatory action research. The intended outcomes of the project are to produce more and better participatory action research relevant to education, health and livelihood prospects; and to produce more and better qualified graduates to improve the quality and relevance of teaching and learning in Nepal. The project is being implemented in partnership with the Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, and Norwegian University of Life Sciences (Norway). 

One of the aims of the project is to publish a peer reviewed journal (i.e., Journal of Transformative Praxis) covering the themes of transformative learning, participatory action research and health and well-being education. 

In order to facilitate the process of the journal publication, the project office is hiring a Research Assistant (Journal Editorial Assistant) for the project. The work station is based at the Project Office located at Kathmandu University, School of Education, Hattiban, Lalitpur. 

Therefore, interested candidates are called for an application as follows: 

Position: Research Assistant (Journal Editorial Assistant) 

Duration: Initially 1 year, it can be extended for the project period based on performance. 

Qualifications: At least a Master's Degree in Education, Social Sciences, and Management. Preferred M. Phil degree. 

* Salary will be based on Kathmandu University rules and regulations. 

Skills required 

1. Good knowledge of peer review policy, academic research related works and publications 

2. Good Knowledge of open access policy 

3. Strong planning, team work, organizational and time management skills 

4. Strong oral and written communication skills 

5. Good knowledge of templates and formatting of an academic journal 

6. Ability to work independently with little supervision with own initiation and strict deadline
