Nepal Army calls applications for Technical Officers. 

Applications are invited for officer positions in the Nepal Army's Technical, Aviation, and Miscellaneous Services through open and inclusive competition. Qualified Nepali citizens must complete the online application form on the official Nepal Army website at www.nepalarmy.mil.np.

Applicants must print the completed form, attach a stamp worth NPR 10 (ten rupees), and submit it to the designated recruitment center.

Application Fee

Applicants must pay a fee of NPR 1,000 (one thousand rupees) for each position. The payment must be deposited to the following account:

Physical Requirements for All Positions

  1. Height:

  • Male: Minimum 5 feet 3 inches
  • Female: Minimum 5 feet

  1. Chest Measurement (for Males):

  • Normal: Minimum 32 inches
  • Expanded: Minimum 34 inches

  1. Weight:

  • Male: Minimum 50 kg (110 pounds)
  • Female: Minimum 40 kg (88 pounds)

  1. Eyesight:

  • If using glasses, vision must not be weaker than ±2 (both eyes).
  • For internal technical service applicants, vision must not exceed ±2.5.

  1. Body Mass Index (BMI):

  • Minimum: 16
  • Maximum: 27

Additional Qualifications and Information for Nepal Army Recruitment

(C) Other Qualifications:

  1. Candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • Qualified in BMI and health examination.
  • No criminal conviction for moral turpitude by the court.
  • Not a member of any political party.
  • Not involved in or associated with any criminal activities or destructive organizations.
  • There is no history of spying against Nepal.
  • There is no punishment for violating human rights or humanitarian laws.
  • Not dismissed from government service for disqualification.
  • Other qualifications as per the following regulations:

    • Military Aviation Service Regulation, 2074
    • Military Miscellaneous Service Regulation, 2074

6. Age Limit:

  • For all candidates as of 2081/08/29:

    • Male: Minimum 18 years and not exceeding 29 years.
    • Female: Minimum 18 years and not exceeding 30 years.

7. Serving Army Candidates:

  • Eligibility for Application:

    • Maximum 35 years of age.
    • It can be applied up to three times as per relevant service regulations.
    • Must meet educational qualifications, complete basic military training, and have a recommendation from the unit commander.
    • Minimum of 1 year of service by the final application submission date (2081/08/29).

8. Required Documents:

Candidates must submit the following certified copies in a Nepali file, ensuring no overwriting or errors:

  1. Nepali Citizenship Certificate
  2. Educational Qualification Certificates:
    • Academic transcripts, character certificates, and original or provisional certificates for all levels.
  3. Equivalency Certificate (if applicable):
    • Equivalency certificates from Tribhuvan University must be provided for degrees obtained outside Nepal.
  4. Additional Documents for Specific Candidates:
    • If applying as a dependent of disabled or deceased Nepal Army personnel:
      1. Proof of inclusion in the "Sahara Requirement List" issued by the Ceremonial Operations Directorate.
      2. A copy of the pension grant letter indicates disability or martyrdom status.
      3. Medical Board Recommendation Letter per Clause 107 of Military Service Regulation, 2069 (for serving personnel).
      4. Proof of relationship with the concerned individual.

9. Photographs:

  • Four passport-sized photographs (clearly showing the full face, including both ears).
  • One 2x2-sized photograph must also be submitted.
  • Male candidates must have short hair and no beard in the photographs.

11. Selection Process:

The selection process includes the following steps:

  • Bearing test.
  • BMI and preliminary health examination.
  • Physical test.
  • Written examination (conducted by the Public Service Commission).
  • Practical test.
  • Competency tests (TO, GTO, IO, and Board Conference).
  • Detailed health examination.
  • Final interview.

13. Additional Conditions:

  1. Departmental Approval:
    • Individuals currently employed by the government of Nepal or semi-government organizations must provide departmental approval while applying.
  2. Inclusivity Quotas:
    • Candidates from inclusive groups such as Indigenous/Janajati, Madhesi, and Dalit communities can only compete under one category. This restriction does not apply to women.
    • Candidates (both male and female) from backward regions can also compete under the backward region quota.
  3. Women’s Roles:
    • Women will not be included in units responsible for Direct Combat Duties or close Combat Roles but will serve in Combat-Related Duties or combat Service Support roles that support frontline combat units.
  4. Declaration for Multiple Applications:
    • Candidates applying for other positions in ongoing recruitment processes must declare it.
