The Government of Nepal, Ministry of Home Affairs, Nepal Police Headquarters (Human Resource Development Department, Career Development Division, Recruitment Selection Branch), Naxal, Kathmandu, has announced new recruitment opportunities. Eligible Nepali citizens are invited to apply for the vacant positions of Police Constable and Police Office Assistant through an open competition under inclusive provisions. Applications must be submitted in person with a Rs. 10 revenue stamp.

Required Documents

  1. Copy of Nepali Citizenship Certificate
    • Must be clear and valid.
  2. Passport-Sized Photographs
    • Five (5) recently taken identical photos showing the full face and both ears.
    • For males, hair and beard must be trimmed.
  3. Academic Certificates
    • Photocopies of all academic certificates, character certificates, provisional certificates (if applicable), and transcripts/marksheets for each education level.
    • Candidates with foreign qualifications must include an equivalency certificate issued by the Higher Secondary Education Board or Tribhuvan University.
  4. Documents for Martyr/Disabled Police Families
    • Official proof of martyrdom/disability and a relationship verification document.
  5. Documents for Inclusive Categories:
    • Indigenous/Janajati:
      • Proof of inclusion in the Indigenous/Janajati list as per the National Foundation for Indigenous Nationalities Act.
      • If multiple subcastes exist, a verification document from the local government head, certified by the Chief District Officer (CDO), is required.
    • Madhesi:
      • Proof of identification as a Madhesi from a recognized institution as specified in the Nepal Gazette.
      • If not gazetted, a document certified by the local government head and CDO is required.
    • Dalit:
      • Proof of inclusion in the Dalit list published by the National Dalit Commission.
      • For multiple subcastes, follow the same verification process.
    • Backward Region Residents:
      • Permanent residency proof from designated backward regions (Achham, Kalikot, Jajarkot, Jumla, Dolpa, Bajhang, Bajura, Mugu, and Humla).
      • Applicants must hold citizenship from the same district and have resided there permanently, as certified by the local authority at least three months prior to the application date.
  6. Self-Attestation
    • All photocopies must bear the applicant's signature with the phrase "True Copy as Original."

  Other Requirements - Must not have been dismissed from government service due to misconduct.
    - Must not be affiliated with any political organization.
    - Should not have tattoos on visible body parts during the examination.
Police Office Assistants (Cook and Cleaner) Educational Qualification Ability to read and write Nepali.
  Physical Requirements Male: Height 5 feet 2 inches, Chest 32-34 inches, Weight 50 kg.
    Female: Height 5 feet, Weight 42 kg.
  Special Skills - Cook: Relevant experience in food preparation.
    - Cleaner: Prior knowledge of cleaning and sanitation.

Selection Process

Preliminary Health and Physical Fitness Test Conducted to assess the physical fitness and basic health of candidates.
Detailed Health Examination A comprehensive health check for shortlisted candidates.
Written Examination (Police Constable Only) - Conducted by the Public Service Commission at designated exam centers.
  - Includes multiple-choice questions with a 20% mark penalty for incorrect answers.
  - Answers must be in capital letters (A, B, C, D) only.
Practical Test (Police Office Assistant Only) Skill-based assessment relevant to the duties of the office assistant.
Interview Final stage for selected candidates.

Specialized Roles for Police Office Assistant

Applicants for the Police Office Assistant position must select a specialized role according to their preferences and skills. Each applicant must indicate their choice of role when submitting the application form.

  1. Cook (Bhanche):
    • Prepare meals for the police mess, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and manage kitchen utensils.
  2. Cleaner (Kuchikar):
    • Clean offices, restrooms, bathrooms, and the office compound.

Important Notes on the Recruitment Process

  • Inclusive Group Provisions:
    The recruitment process adheres to the Supreme Couthat do not meetines to ensure fair representation for inclusive groups. Positions not filled in fiscal year 2079/80 will be adjusted according to legal provisions.

  • Application Guidelines:
    Apand submit the application formt a single application center. Duplicate applications will be disqualified.
    Original documents must be presented at the time of application submission.

  • Exam Results:
    Results will be published after each phase, and only successful candidates will be allowed to move forward to the next round.

  • Single Examination System:
    A unified exam will be conducted for both open and inclusive groups. Scores will determine eligibility within their respective groups.

  • Vacancy Adjustments:
    Vacancies may be adjusted before the written exam results, with updates announced accordingly.

  • Rejected Applications:
    Applications not meeting the required criteria may be rejected at any stage, and the application fee will not be refunded.
