Private schools in Nepal play a significant role in the country's educational landscape, offering diverse opportunities for students at various levels. According to the Flash 1 Report of 2081, published by the Center for Education and Human Resources Development, there are 7,814 Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED) centers run as private institutions. At the basic level (grades 1-8), 3,820 private schools serve a large student population, while 4,329 private institutions offer secondary-level education (grades 9-12).
The report highlights that over 1.8 million students are enrolled in private schools across basic and secondary levels, with more than 68,000 students attending ECED centers. This extensive network of private schools continues to contribute significantly to the educational development of Nepal.
