Waling Municipality is one of the 11 municipalities in Syangja District of Gandaki Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 50,488, comprising 23,482 males (46.5%) and 27,006 females (53.5%), with a literacy rate of 83.38%. Spanning 128.4 square kilometers, Waling Municipality exhibits the population density of 393 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 14 wards.
According to the latest publicly available report of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD), Waling has 74 schools. Of these, 11 are private and 63 are public. The breakdown includes 53 pre-schools, 72 basic schools, and 24 secondary schools. Among the secondary schools, 14 offer +2 programs.
