Shambhunath Municipality is one of the 18 municipalities in Saptari District of Madhesh Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 39,634, comprising 19,006 males (48.0%) and 20,628 females (52.0%), with a literacy rate of 67.12%. Spanning 108.71 square kilometers, Shambhunath Municipality exhibits the population density of 365 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 12 wards.
