Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City is one of the 12 municipalities in Sunsari District of Koshi Province. As per the 2021 census, the sub-metropolitan city has a total population of 197,241, comprising 93,290 males (47.3%) and 103,951 females (52.7%), with a literacy rate of 85.3%.
