Galyang Municipality is one of the 11 municipalities in Syangja District of Gandaki Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 31,034, comprising 14,154 males (45.6%) and 16,880 females (54.4%), with a literacy rate of 83.42%. Spanning 122.71 square kilometers, Galyang Municipality exhibits the population density of 253 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 11 wards.

According to the latest publicly available report of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD), Galyang has 65 schools. Of these, 7 are private and 56 are public. The breakdown includes 47 pre-schools, 65 basic schools, and 20 secondary schools. Among the secondary schools, 14 offer +2 programs.
