Bhanu Municipality is one of the 10 municipalities in Tanahun District of Gandaki Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 42,794, comprising 19,517 males (45.6%) and 23,277 females (54.4%), with a literacy rate of 77.54%. Spanning 184.0 square kilometers, Bhanu Municipality exhibits the population density of 233 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 13 wards.
According to the latest publicly available report of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD), Bhanu has 60 schools. Of these, 11 are private and 49 are public. The breakdown includes 45 pre-schools, 60 basic schools, and 24 secondary schools. Among the secondary schools, 11 offer +2 programs.
