Godawari Municipality is one of the 13 municipalities in Kailali District of Sudurpashchim Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 98,746, comprising 46,692 males (47.3%) and 52,054 females (52.7%), with a literacy rate of 82.96%. Spanning 308.63 square kilometers, Godawari Municipality exhibits the population density of 320 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 12 wards.
According to the latest publicly available report of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD), Godawari has 93 schools. Of these, 36 are private and 55 are public. The breakdown includes 74 pre-schools, 91 basic schools, and 42 secondary schools. Among the secondary schools, 18 offer +2 programs.
