Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City is one of the 10 municipalities in Makwanpur District of Bagmati Province. As per the 2021 census, the sub-metropolitan city has a total population of 193,576, comprising 95,678 males (49.4%) and 97,898 females (50.6%), with a literacy rate of 83.95%. Spanning 261.59 square kilometers, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City exhibits the population density of 740 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 19 wards.
According to the latest publicly available report of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD), Hetauda has 126 schools. Of these, 50 are private and 75 are public.
