At Fishtail Academy, the Primary Years Program (PYP) is firmly rooted in principles of inquiry-based learning, a transdisciplinary framework, and a focus on international mindedness, all in accordance with the national curriculum. Within this framework, the PYP fosters curiosity, creativity, and reflection in each student, within an enriching and supportive learning environment. Under the PYP, students explore significant concepts through units of inquiry organized around six transdisciplinary themes. These units integrate various subject areas such as mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies, encouraging students to establish meaningful connections between their learning and the world around them, thus enhancing critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. By nurturing these skills and instilling attributes of lifelong learning, the PYP at Fishtail Academy empowers students with the necessary tools to excel academically and personally within a globally interconnected and diverse community.
