Initially, UGC had set a deadline to submit an application for the scholarship on Chaitra 13, 2081, on its first notice. This reflects UGC's commitment to broadening access to advanced education for various underprivileged groups.

Eligibility
Eligibility for the scholarship is targeted at individuals who are disabled, economically disadvantaged, or descendants of Dalits, martyrs, conflict victims, freedmen, and Muslim women. To meet the criteria, students must be enrolled in the first year of an undergraduate or postgraduate program during the fiscal year 2081/082.

In the case of children of martyrs or conflict victims, a recommendation letter stating that they are children of martyrs or conflict victims from the concerned local level or District Administration Office or body designated by the Government of Nepal.
