Tribhuvan University's 66th Annual Day Awards Announcement

Tribhuvan University (TU) has officially announced a call for applications for its annual academic awards, set to be distributed in celebration of its 66th Anniversary. These prestigious awards, supported by generous donors, are designed to honor outstanding postgraduate students who completed their studies during the academic year 2080/81 (from Shrawan 2080 to the end of Ashad 2081).

Key Information:

  • Deadline for Submission: Applications must be submitted within 15 days from the date of this announcement.
  • Required Documentation:
    Applicants must include:
    • Two copies of their research paper or thesis
    • Personal information
    • One passport-sized photograph
    • A copy of their Nepali citizenship certificate
    • Academic qualifications (transcripts and degree certificates for postgraduate level)
    • A recommendation letter from the campus or concerned authority
  • Application Procedure: Submit the complete application to the Dean of Studies at the respective campus. The Dean’s Office will review and forward the recommended applications to the Coordination Division of the Office of the Rector within 5 days.
  • Evaluation of Awards: Applications will be assessed based on the quality of the research paper or thesis. Incomplete or late submissions will not be accepted.
  • Award Decisions: The final decision regarding award recipients will rest solely with Tribhuvan University.

Available Awards:

1) Shree Krishnachandra Regmi Award (Quota: 1)

  • Eligibility: Postgraduate students from the Institute of Science and Technology, and Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences, Management, Education, and Law. The thesis must be based on Nepal-related topics.
  • Prize: NPR 5,000 and a certificate

2) Shree Maheshchandra Mandevi Regmi Award (Quota: 1)

  • Eligibility: Master's level graduates from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences with a thesis in Economics or History.
  • Prize: NPR 20,001 and a certificate

3) Shree Babukrishna Rijal Award (Quota: 1)

  • Eligibility: First-class Master's graduates from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences with outstanding research in Nepali history, culture, or archaeology.
  • Prize: NPR 25,001 and a certificate

4) Belu Bishweshwar Chataut Memorial Award (Quota: 2 – One each in Linguistics and Journalism)

  • Eligibility: Master's level students in Linguistics or Journalism from TU’s constituent campuses, enrolled in the batch 2077–2079. Candidates must have passed their final exams without any failures, achieved the highest scores, and be listed in the 2080 convocation grace list.
  • Prize: NPR 25,000 each and a certificate
  • Note: Thesis submission is not required for this award. A certificate of admission from the respective campus is mandatory.
